NL Maddawgs Lose Despite Out Hitting Pagoda City Phantoms

NL Maddawgs fell 11-10 to Pagoda City Phantoms on Sunday at Emerald Playground despite out-hitting them 11 to 10. Andrew Kabrick led NL Maddawgs with three hits.
NL Maddawgs fought back after falling down by eight runs in the fourth inning. The comeback fell just short though. NL Maddawgs closed the gap by scoring on an error, a double, a double, a single, a fielder's choice, a triple, and a solo home run.
Pagoda City Phantoms got on the board in the top of the first inning after Angel Javier grounded out, and Will Budock singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Steve Kluth hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the second for the Pagoda City Phantoms. Pagoda City Phantoms added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Budock doubled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs.
NL Maddawgs scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Kabrick doubled, scoring two runs, Christopher Czonstka doubled, scoring two runs, and Brendan Little , singled, scoring one run.
Kluth homered to center field, scoring three runs in the top of the sixth for the Pagoda City Phantoms. Kabrick hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the seventh for the NL Maddawgs. Jayden Grube led things off on the hill for NL Maddawgs. The starter gave up six hits and six runs (five earned) over three innings, striking out six and walking none. Drew Donnellan stepped on the bump first for Pagoda City Phantoms. The pitcher surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out seven and walking none. NL Maddawgs accumulated 11 hits in the game. Kabrick drove the middle of the lineup, leading NL Maddawgs with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Gabriel Burgos collected two hits for NL Maddawgs in four at bats. NL Maddawgs stole four bases in the game. Pagoda City Phantoms collected 10 hits in the game. Kluth led Pagoda City Phantoms with five runs batted in. The catcher went 3-for-3 on the day. Budock and Gabe Kolb each collected multiple hits for Pagoda City Phantoms. Pagoda City Phantoms stole four bases in the game.
NL Maddawgs welcome Kings on Sunday for their next game.
